Tollywood star Rana Daggubati who has become popular as a villain after Baahubali, is now trying to focus on playing lead roles. He has signed his next film "Kaasi" directed by Teja, with Kajal Agarwal as the female lead.
The actor recently completed his next Ghazi - a submarine-based war film - where Rana will be seen as an executive naval officer of the Indian Submarine S21.
According to the director, the film should go on the floors by June. The film, which is touted to be an action-drama, is produced by P Satyanarayana Reddy.
But Teja and Rana are awaiting Rajamouli's green signal to start the project. Rana's dates for the next 6 months are blocked with Rajamouli and the actor needs his consent before getting into other projects.
The shooting of Baahubali 2 will resume from June first week and should be wrapped up by October this year. Rana is busy getting himself ready for the second installment. The actor needs to gain 20kg for his role and has to undergo many training sessions for the movie.
Sources have told TNM that Rajamouli has permitted Rana to be available for other projects only after September. Although the movie will be wrapped up by October, Rana’s part will get over before that.
