Kannada Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar had anchored the first two seasons of the hit TV show Kannadada Kotiyadipathi and there were talks that he would host the season 3 as well. But it now looks like Puneeth Rajkumar will not be on the show as speculated and actor – director Ramesh Aravind has taken over the reins.

On the show being hosted by Ramesh Aravind, its producer Siddhartha Basu had tweeted: “Delighted that the eloquent, knowledgeable, multi-award winning host, actor, director, writre, @Ramesh_aravind will be hosting Kannadada Kotidiyadipathi on @StarSuvarna. The call for entries will open soon – a golden opportunity for a chance to get to the hot seat.” To this, Ramesh Aravind replied: “ Happy. Honored. Humbled to host KBC in Kannada. Await details of Kannadada Kotiyadhipathi on StarSuvarna.”

It may be mentioned here that the first two seasons of the show were hosted by Puneeth Rajkumar and the makers were keen on roping him in for the season 3 as well. However, the star’s shooting schedules and remuneration expectations forced them to seek a replacement.

Ramesh Aravind is well known celebrity, having acted in scores of films, directed movies and hosted TV shows. He is currently hosting a celebrity talk show – Weekend with Ramesh – which has turned out to be a huge hit among TV buffs. He also has TV shows such as Raja Rani Ramesh and Preetyinda Ramesh to his credit.

Besides TV shows, he is busy directing the Bollywood blockbuster Queen remake in Tamil and Kannada. While Parul Yadav is reprising Kangna Ranaut’s role in the Kannada remake, it is Kajal Agarwal in the Tamil remake. There are also reports that he has taken over the reins of the Telugu remake following its director walking out citing creative differences with Tammannah.
