Rakul recently told TOI in an interview, “I am really excited about the project and I know all eyes will be on me because for the first time someone is going to play Srideviji in a film.”

She added, “This is going to be the most challenging characters I’ve played so far because Srideviji is a legend. She was and is still loved by millions. I have been a big fan and recreating the diva on screen for the first time is a big responsibility. I hope I can do justice to it.”

Initially when the NTR biopic project was announced, it was titled NTR and now the makers have at last finalised the title as Kathanayakudu. Reports say that though the title is changed, the logo NTR will be used for the film. The shooting for this film is happening at a brisk pace, with its release date scheduled to be on January 9 next year to cash in on the Sankranthi holidays. The film will be released in two parts, with part one making it to the silver screens on January 9 and part two on January 24.

The NTR biopic is one of the most anticipated films in Tollywood with N Balakrishna, son of NT Rama Rao, playing the title role. Interestingly, Balakrishna is also co-producing the film along with Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Induri.

The film, which went on the floors recently, has an impressive star cast that includes Vidya Balan, Rana Daggubati, Sumanth, Mohan Babu and others. The film will have Sumanth playing Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Vidya Balan as NTR’s wife Basvatharakam and Rana Daggubati as Chandrababu Naidu. MM Keeravani is composing music for this venture with Gnana Shekar VS cranking the camera and Arram Ramakrishna editing it.
