Actor Suriya is on the verge of wrapping up Thaana Serntha Kootam, the rumoured remake of Akshay Kumar-starrer Special 26, which is being directed by Vignesh Shivan. The film is said to be a heist comedy featuring an ensemble cast of Karthik, Ramya Krishnan and Senthil.
Very soon, he will commence work on his next film with Selvaraghavan, with whom he’s teaming up for the first time. It is believed that Rakul Preet Singh, who will be soon seen in Mahesh Babu’s bilingual action flick Spyder, has been finalised as the leading lady.
Rakul, once considered a jinxed actress with back-to-back flops, is making a strong comeback to Kollywood with Spyder and Karthi’s Dheeran Adhigaaram Ondru. Selva is known to write strong characters for women in his films and it is believed that he is quite impressed with Rakul’s work in recent times. Although she is yet to officially sign on the dotted line, talks have already been held with her and she’s quite kicked about the project, slated to go on the floors later this year.
Rakul is also said to be in talks for Vijay 62 with AR Murugadoss, who is apparently very impressed with her work in Spyder. She is one of the front-runners for the project which reunites Vijay and Murugadoss for the third time after blockbusters such as Thuppakki and Kaththi.
