The sequel of the 2019 hit film Rakshasudu is going to be a pan-India film with a Rs 100-crore budget, revealed producer Koneru Satyanarayana in an official statement on Monday, August 2. This comes a day after the film completed two years on August 1. The first part of the action thriller, which was directed by Ramesh Varma, starred Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas and Anupama Parameshwaran in lead roles. For the sequel, the makers have not yet announced who is going to be the male lead. However, Sai Srinivas is going to be replaced with another ‘big star’ in the sequel.

Rakshasudu 2 story is more exciting than the first part. It will have more commercial elements than the first part and will be more thrilling. This is going to be made on par with Hollywood films. It will be made on pan-India level and will have a big star playing the lead role. We have earmarked a budget of Rs 100 crore and it will be entirely shot in London. We will announce the name of the hero at the right time," said Satyanarayana.

Earlier, there were plans to remake the first instalment, Rakshasudu, too, but this did not pan out due to COVID-19. However, the film is going to have a Bollywood remake starring Akshay Kumar. "Akshay Kumar approached us to give the [remake] rights to Pooja Films. We readily did so as we felt he would be perfect for the role. Since we could not [remake] the film, we gave the rights to Pooja Films. Ramesh Varma will be making his Bollywood directorial debut with the movie," Satyanarayana said in a statement.

Meanwhile, producer Koneru Satyanarayana is currently making Khiladi with Ravi Teja as the lead, which is getting ready for the release. Commenting about the Khiladi, the producer said, “It will be another blockbuster from our banner. Some big heroes from Bollywood have already approached us for the remake rights. We will have to make a decision soon".
