The third instalment of the horror-comedy Raju Gari Gadhi, directed by Ohmkar and starring Ashwin Babu and Avika Gor, hit the screens last week. Though the film received mixed reviews, it has done decent business at the box-office. For the third instalment, the makers had initially roped in Tamannaah to play the female lead. But after attending the muhurat, the actor didn’t continue with the project. While different reasons are being put forth for her opting out of the project, Tamannaah never disclosed the reason. Later, the makers roped in Avika Gor as the female lead of the film.

This being so, during the promos of the film, the makers reportedly kept saying said that Tamannaah was supposed to be a part of the star cast but had walked out. This did not go down too well with the actor and she apparently sent word to the Raju Gari Gadhi team to refrain from using her name in the promos.

A source told Deccan Chronicle, “Actually, it irked Tamannaah that the filmmakers have been going on about how the film was launched with her and how she walked out of it. But it seems that, somehow, she feels bad and has sent word to the makers to skip her name in the promotions.”

The first instalment of Raju Gari Gadhi, released in 2015, was directed by Ohmkar. It had Ashwin Babu and Dhanya Balakrishna in the lead roles. Then followed a sequel with the release of Raju Gari Gadhi 2, which hit the marquee in 2017. This film, again directed by Ohmkar, starred Nagarjuna Akkineni in the lead role, with Samantha Akkineni making a cameo appearance. The star cast also included Seerat Kapoor, Ashwin Babu, Rao Ramesh, Vennela Kishore, Praveen, Nandu, Shakalaka Shankar, Naresh and Avinash. S Thaman composed the music for Raju Gari Gadhi 2 and the cinematography was handled by R Diwakaran with Madhu editing it.
