Rajisha Vijayan will play a cyclist in the film Finals, a sports drama that has her playing the lead role. The film is directed by Arun PR and bankrolled by Maniyanpilla Raju and Prajeev.

She plays a cyclist training for the 2020 Olympics. The actor has undergone rigorous training under an expert to get into the skin of the character she plays. Finals will have actor-producer Maniyanpilla Raju’s son Niranj playing the male lead and Suraj Venjaramoodu as the heroine’s father.

Rajisha had put in a lot of effort for her role in June as well, cutting off her much-admired long hair to play a schoolgirl, losing weight and so on. Before that, she won the state award for best actor (female) for her debut film Anuraga Karikkin Vellam.

Finals is expected to release for Onam this year. Interestingly, the film will be competing with three big films - Mohanlal’s Ittymaani: Made in China, Prithviraj’s Brother’s Day, and Nivin Pauly-Nayanthara’s Love Action Drama.

Ittymaani: Made in China is directed by debutants Jibi and Joju and bankrolled by Anthony Perumbavoor under his banner Aashirvad Cinemas.

Brother’s Day will make the directorial debut of actor Kalabhavan Shajohn. The team has wrapped up a schedule in Greece recently. Listin Stephen is bankrolling the film under his banner Magic Frames on a budget of Rs 15 crore. Miya, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prayaga Rose Martin and Aima Rosmy Sebastian have been roped in to play the female leads in this film.

The shooting of the Dhyan Sreenivasan directorial, Love Action Drama has been wrapped up successfully some time ago. Besides directing the film, actor turned director Dhyan has also penned the script for this flick. The film has Sreenivasan, Urvasi, Aju Varghese, Dhanya Balakrishnan and director Antony Joseph, playing pivotal roles in it.
