Rajinikanth’s upcoming saga ‘2.0’, the sequel of Robot is progressing at a brisk pace under the direction of Shankar. Recently, makers have wrapped up the entire shoot in New Delhi and shifted to Chennai.
Akshay Kumar is playing the role of a villain and scientist Dr. Richard who turns into a creature while another Bollywood actor Sudhanshu Pandey will be seen as a human villain.
According to the latest statement from Shankar, 2.0 has completed 100 days of shoot, including two high voltage action sequences between Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, the climax part and a few crucial scenes.
According to inside sources, the makers will be spending Rs. 100 crores for VFX alone and seven top international companies are working on it.
The movie is being produced under the banner of Lyca Productions. British actress Amy Jackson is playing the female lead, and the music is scored by Oscar winner A R Rahman.
2.o which is slated to release on April 14, 2017 is likely to clash with Baahubali 2. Trade sources maintain that though both the films are releasing on the same day, there will be no clash since Baahubali is a mainstream Telugu film while 2.0 is a Tamil film.
