After impressing audiences and critics alike, Vijay Sethupathi's Seethakaathi has earned the praise of superstar Rajinikanth who has lauded the team for its overall effort in delivering a hard-hitting film.

Fresh off from the success of 2.0, the Enthiran actor extended his appreciation to the team. According to a Behindwoods report, Rajinikanth has reportedly said, "Vijay Sethupathi na vidhyasam, Vidhyasam na Vijay Sethupathi."(Vijay Sethupathi means different. 'Different' means Vijay Sethupathi). Rajinikanth’s vote of confidence should work in the film’s favour.

It’s worth mentioning that Vijay, will be sharing screen space with Rajinikanth in his upcoming action entertainer, Petta which is eyeing a Pongal 2019 release. Vijay Sethupathi will be playing the main antagonist who goes by the name Jithu.

During the recently held Petta audio launch, Superstar reportedly praised Sethupathi, “He is a maha nadigan. Felt very good to have worked with someone like him after so long”

Starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role, who is seen as Ayya Adhimoolam and Veteran Kumar, it has Parvathy as Kumar’s wife and Archana as Ayya’s wife. The film also has Gayathrie in the star cast with veteran director J Mahendran playing the villain.

Govind Menon has composed the tunes for this flick with Saraskanth TK wielding the camera and R Govindaraj roped in for editing. Seethakaathi has been bankrolled by Sudhan Sundaram, Umesh G, Jayaram and Arun Vaidyanathan under the banner Passion Studios.
