It’s been two weeks since superstar Rajinikanth jetted off to the US on a holiday with his family. He was supposed to return to the country sometime next week, according to the original plan. However, he has extended his stay, much to the surprise of everybody including Kalaipuli S. Thanu, producer of Kabali.

Reports have been coming in that the 65-year old has undergoing kidney-related treatment and is expected to be under supervision for two more weeks. Sources, however, indicate that there’s nothing serious to worry about his health.

Speaking to a Sri Lankan based web-portal Cineulagam, executive producer of Rajinikanth's 2.0, Raju Mahalingam of Lyca productions said, "Superstar is completely fine with good health and the news going round about his health is all rumour. He even spoke to me the day before and he will be returning to India in 2 weeks.”

Meanwhile, Aishwarya, elder daughter of Rajinikanth refuted the rumours. She posted an image which showed Rajinikanth and herself on the street in US and tweeted,” Random walking around ..chatting n chilling  with #appa #daddycool ..silly selfies n #fatherdaughtergoals".

Rajinikanth was supposed to be in the country to attend the audio launch of Kabali, which is scheduled to be released on Sunday. However, due to his unavailability due to unforeseeable circumstances, producer Thanu decided to have a soft launch.

The release of Kabali has been shifted from July 1 to July 15 which will allow several small and medium budget films to release their films in the two weeks prior to its release.
