Reports from the tinsel town are that the filmmakers want to thrill the fans with the special first look poster and teaser on the festive occasion. Earlier, plans were on to release the movie this Diwali but the idea was put off after the VFX department made it clear that the graphics work would require more time. Following this, the film’s release was postponed to early 2018.
And here is another important update that is sure to have the fans go berserk! Yes, it is almost confirmed that the trailer of 2.0 would be out on Rajinikanth’s birthday on December 12, 2017.
Directed by the maverick director S Shankar, 2.0 is a magnum opus that is being bankrolled by Lyca Productions’ A Subashakaran. The film has Rajinikanth playing the lead role with Amy Jackson as his heroine. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is playing the main antagonist in this film. The film also has Sudhanshu Pandey, Adil Hussain, Kalabhavan Shajohn and Riyaz Khan in important roles.
Made on a budget of Rs. 450 crore, 2.0 is touted to be the costliest film to be made in the history of Indian cinema till date. The Oscar winning music director AR Rahman is composing music for the film with Nirav Shah cranking the camera and Anthony in charge of editing. Oscar winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty will be designing the sound with Legacy Effects taking care of the animatronics work and Mary E Vogt designing the special costumes.
