Parts of Bengaluru received showers on Monday, a day after the city soared at 39.2 degrees, breaking an 85-year-old record.
An official at Indian Meteorological Department, Bengaluru said that more rains are expected over the week and the mercury is expected to drop.
"Bengaluru will cool down for a bit as the temperature would drop but maximum by 2 to 3 degrees,"he said.
It rained for less for a little less than an hour, which is typical of pre-monsoon rains.
Asked about what the maximum temperature recorded on Monday was, the official said the data would only be available at 6 pm.
