The News Minute | November 28, 2014 | 9:30 am IST The Hyderabad police had a busy evening last night when a rag picker triggered a fear of a bomb hoax near the Osmania Medical college bus stop in Hyderabad on Thursday. According to a report in the Deccan Chronicle, Sultan Bazaar Inspector G. Srinivas said that the incident occurred when the rag picker who was going on a bicycle dropped his bag and bicycle and fled when someone called out to him. This anxious response caused instant panic among the locals who suspected a bomb in the bag and called the police who in turn evacuated the area and brought in bomb disposal teams and sniffer dogs and checked the area for more than half an hour. On going through the contents of the bag, the police found nothing other than clothes and rags. Police suspect that the boy must’ve stolen the clothes and feared being caught. The bus stop is in one of the busiest areas in the city and the traffic was diverted during rush hour leading to huge traffic jams in the surrounding areas.
