Sivakarthikeyan, after playing a jobless young man who stalks the heroine in Remo and a blue-collared worker in Velaikkaran, has started shooting for his next project with director Rajesh M, best known for films such as Boss Engira Bhaskaran and All in All Azhagu Raja.

The yet-untitled film, to be bankrolled by Studio Green, was launched recently and the launch ceremony was followed by regular shooting. Nayanthara, last seen with Siva in Velaikkaran, has been signed as the leading lady and she’s expected to join the sets very soon.

On Sunday, veteran actor Radikaa Sarathkumar took to Twitter to reveal that she is also part of the cast and has joined the shoot. She also shared a picture from the sets that featured her with her son, Sivakarthikeyan and director Rajesh.

Talking about the genre of the film, director Rajesh had told the Times of India: “Sivakarthikeyan is a huge star among the kids and family audience love him to bits. So, this one will be a complete family entertainer which has its heart in its place.”

If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, Radikaa plays Siva’s mother in the film, which is touted to be a romantic comedy. Originally, Siva was to join hands with Thaana Serntha Kootam director Vignesh Shivn for a project for Studio Green. For reasons unknown, Vignesh opted out of the project and the makers were left with no option other than roping in Rajesh as they didn’t want to waste Siva’s dates. Siva had committed to a project with Studio Green over two years ago and the project finally took off after a few hiccups. Currently dubbed SK 13, Siva is expected to shoot for this project simultaneously with his next, a science fiction film with Ravi Kumar.

Recently Sivakarthikeyan turned producer with Kanaa, which marks the directorial debut of lyricist-turned-filmmaker Arunraja Kamaraj. Aishwarya Rajesh plays the lead role while Sathyaraj plays her father in the sports-based drama on women’s cricket.
