The Gambinos, a Malayalam film set in the Malabar region, is currently being directed by Girish Panicker Mattada. Touted to be a crime thriller, it has the veteran actor Radhika Sarath Kumar playing the lead role with the cast also including Vishnu Vinay, Sijoy Varghese, Sampath Raj, Salu K George, Sreejith Ravi, Musthafa and Neeraja. According to reports about this film, we hear that it will not be a film loaded with violence and blood.

In fact, it is about the crime families and the struggle they undergo due to the illegal activities conducted by them. The Gambinos will be a film that revolves around the main character Mamma, played by Radhika. She will be instrumental in bringing the crime families together and the couple of generations that follow her.

We hear that director Girish is an alumnus of the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles and the SAE Film School in New Zealand. The script of The Gambinos has been penned by Sakkir Madathil while Elban Krishna is the cinematographer and the music department is handled by Jakes Bejoy.

The Gambinos is bankrolled by Kangaroo Broadcasting, an Australian based film company. The film’s shooting has been progressing for quite some months now and we hear that it has been wrapped up. It is now in the post production stage with the filmmakers working on its release date.

In Kollywood, Radhika will be part of Sivakarthikeyan's next, directed by M Rajesh. After joining the sets, the veteran actor shared a picture from the sets saying she is having a blast of a time. "On the sets of Dir Rajesh's film with @Siva_Kartikeyan and #ladysuperstar Nayanthara, having a blast on the sets,” Radhika posted. Produced by Gnanavel Raja’s Studio Green, the film, popularly known as ‘SK 13’ is tipped to be an out-and-out comedy venture.
