Radhika Kumaraswamy aka Kutty Radhika will be seen playing the title role in Damayanti, a horror comedy. A period flick set in the 1980s, it will reportedly have loads of VFX included. Makuta VFX has been roped in to take care of the computer graphics in the film.

Damayanti will have veteran producer GK Reddy of GK Films playing Radhika’s dad. It may be noted here that he is the father of the actor - producer Vishal, who is also the general secretary of the South Indian Artistes Associations and the President of the Tamil Film Producers’ Council. Reports indicate that Damayanti will be made in Kannada and then released in other southern languages as well.

To be directed by Navarasan, who is also the producer of the film, Damayanti will include Sadhu Kokila, Tabla Nani, Vijay Chendoor, Kempegowda, Pavan and Karthik in the star cast in supporting roles. There is no news about the male lead in the project till now and details are expected to be revealed soon.

Radhika Kumaraswamy made her acting debut with the 2002 release Ninagagi and went on to act in movies like Neela Megha Shyama, Prema Qaidi, Iyarkai, Bhadradri Ramudu and Navashakthi Vaibhava. She was last seen on the silver screen in Rudra Tandava in 2015, which starred Chiranjeevi Sarja in the lead role. She currently has films like Kontract and Rajendra Ponappa in her kitty, which are in different stages of production.

Radhika Kumaraswamy has been very selective about her film projects and only takes up ventures that interest her immensely. Yet another project that she has inked recently is Bhairadevi, which will be helmed by director Srijai of RX Soori fame. Ramesh Aravind has been roped in play the hero in the film. With both Ramesh Aravind as well as Radhika being well-known names in the Tamil and Telugu film circuits, Bhairadevi will be made in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu languages. The film will also feature Anu Prabhakar and Skanda Ashok in the star cast. Sources say that Bhairadevi will be a thriller but a complete family entertainer.
