Madras Cafe heroine Raashi Khanna began shooting for her upcoming project Venky Mama with actors Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya. The movie is being filmed at picturesque locations in Rajamundhry.

Raashi Khanna, who made her debut as John Abraham’s wife in the movie Madras Cafe and was noticed for her role in the Tamil movie Imaikkaa nodigal, bagged this role after Rakul Preet Singh and Nabha passed it on.

Raashi Khanna shared a video on her official Twitter handle after joining the crew and wrote, “New beginnings. Day1. #VenkyMama” (sic). In the time-lapse video the actress is seen getting her makeup done.

Venky Mama is directed by KS Ravindra and the movie has big expectations from the industry since it will be the first time that an uncle and nephew are acting in a movie. Payal Rajput has been roped in to be the Venkatesh’s pair.

As shooting in Rajamundhry is in progress, the makers of the movie have taken strict security measures as many bystanders and locals from the sets took footage of the shooting and posted it on social media. The producers have arranged for police protection around the sets too.

The project is bankrolled jointly by Suresh Productions and Blue Planet Entertainment on a big budget. SS Thaman has been roped in to compose tunes for Venky Mama and Prasad Murella will be handling cinematography for the movie. The film will be hitting the screens later this year.

Venkatesh’s first movie of the year, F2 – Fun and Frustration released to packed theatres and has been declared a hit. It was a multi-starrer that has Venkatesh sharing the screen space with Varun Tej. The film was directed by Anil Ravipudi, has been bankrolled by ace producer Dil Raju under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations.
