It was announced some weeks ago that Raai Laxmi will be back in Sandalwood with the heroine-centric film titled Jhansi. According to reports, it is not a historical as the title seems to indicate but a story set in modern times. Raai Laxmi will be seen playing a police officer in the film and the story will be centred around her. Sources close to the actor say that she was impressed with the storyline right from the start and that she did not think twice about inking the deal. The shooting for this film is currently ongoing and reports say Raai Laxmi will be seen doing some daredevil stunts, for which she underwent special training in martial arts.

Raai Laxmi currently has three Malayalam films in her kitty which are in different stages of production. The shooting for Oru Kuttanadan Blog is under progress and Arabian Safari has reached the post-production stage. And then she has the untitled Mohanlal – Bhadran film as well, which is supposed to start rolling soon. Apart from the three Malayalam films, she has a couple of Tamil projects as well. Both Neeya 2 and Yaar are currently in the making and its release dates are likely to be announced soon.

The actor’s last outing was the Bollywood flick Julie 2, which did not fare too well at the box office. It may be mentioned here that Raai Laxmi’s last Kannada film release was Attahasa, a film based on the life of the notorious forest brigand Veerappan. The film was directed by AMR Ramesh and she shared screen space with Arjun Sarja and Vijayalakshmi.

The actor made her acting debut with the Tamil film Karka Kasadara way back in the year 2005 and has acted in several films in different languages including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
