Ace director and producer Puri Jagannadh has several hits to his credit till date. And now, the next generation from his family is venturing into the film trade. While it is well known that his son Akash is an actor, there are reports that his daughter Pavithra may also toe in line with her sibling. However, the youngster isn’t just interested in taking up lead roles but is looking for roles that will showcase her talent. She is in need of performance-oriented roles and is in no hurry to sign on the dotted lines
Pavithra will be taking up only those roles that interest her and doesn’t want to be a stereotyped heroine. Sources close to the unit reveal that Puri Jagannadh has designed a quirky character for Pavithra that will have ample scope for performance too.
Besides showing interest in acting, she is also keen on producing movies. Pavithra has worked closely with her dad in the area and will be doing so in the future as well. The star kid already assisted Puri Jagannadh on his last outing with Nandamuri Balakrishna titled Paisaa Vasool.
It may be mentioned here that veteran actor Mohan Babu’s daughter Lakshmi Manchu is also one of the well-known producers in Tollywood and occasionally acts in films that has wide scope for her performance.
Puri Jagannadh, besides directing many smash hits in his career, had produced films such as Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi, Idiot, Sivamani, 143, Pokiri, etc in Telugu and the Hindi flick Buddah Hoga Terra Baap under his banner Puri Jagannadh Touring Talkies. He had also wielded the megaphone for his son Akash’s debut film as hero, Mehbooba.
