Filmmaker Puri Jagannadh is most popular for his blockbuster film Pokkiri, with superstar Mahesh Babu. It’s been a decade since the film released and their collaboration is still talked about for giving Telugu cinema one of its biggest hits. While the duo may have teamed up for another project called Businessman a few years ago, Pokkiri still remains special even today. Jagannadh recently announced his third project with Mahesh titled Jana Gana Mana, on the occasion of Pokkiri clocking a decade.
It is learnt that this project, which might only happen next year, is Puri’s chance to bounce back after the lukewarm response to his last two ventures, Jyothi Lakshmi and Loafer. Puri has assured that Mahesh’s character in his new film will be more powerful and ruthless than his previous avatars.
Before he starts working with Mahesh, it’s quite possible that Puri might finish another project and start pre-production work on this one.
Mahesh, meanwhile, will wrap up Brahmotsavam and commence work on his Tamil-Telugu bilingual project, which is rumoured to be a sequel to Vijay’s Thuppakki.
