Director Vysakh is one of the most wanted directors in the Malayalam film industry. He made his debut in 2010 with the Mammootty starrer Pokkiri Raja but he scored big with the Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan, which turned out to be the first ever Malayalam film to reach the Rs. 100 crore club.

This is reason enough for top stars vying to work with the director. However, Vysakh went on to bankroll the film Ira which released this year while movie buffs have been waiting eagerly for an announcement about his next directorial.

According to the latest buzz, Vysakh is working on two projects simultaneously and has roped in Mammootty and Nivin Pauly for each of those projects. One of the films is titled Raja 2 and is touted to be a sequel to his debut movie Pokkiri Raja. In an interview to Firstpost , Vysakh said: “We start shooting Raja 2 from July onwards. It’ll be a highly entertaining commercial film. We’re in the process of finalising the rest of the cast and crew. Nivin is busy with a few commitments at the moment. I plan to shoot a couple of schedules of Raja 2 and then commence work on Nivin’s project. I will produce the film under my home banner Vysakha Movies.”

The film, which will be penned by Uday Krishna, will have Mammootty playing the lead role and it will be bankrolled by Nelson Ipe under his banner Nelson Ipe Productions. The shooting of Raja 2 is slated to go on to the floors in July this year. On the other, the Nivin Pauly starrer will be a campus entertainer that will be a treat to watch for the youth and provide wholesome family entertainment. The shooting of this film will begin in September this year. This film will be bankrolled by Vysakh Rajan under the banner of Vysakha Movies.

According to reports, Vysakh will be working on both these projects simultaneously by completing one schedule of a film and moving over to another. Both Mammootty and Nivin Pauly’s films are expected to hit the silver screens late this year or early next.
