Actor Priya Bhavani Shankar, who was recently roped in for a pivotal character in Shankar’s Indian 2, has been signed opposite Vishnu Vishal in upcoming Tamil comedy with director Chella. According to a Times of India report, Priya’s character in the film will see her perform some stunts. “Priya will undergo training to perform these action sequences. She will also follow an exercise pattern to knock off a few kilos and sport a new look for her role in the film,” a source was quoted saying in the report.
The project will go on the floors in January 2020. In the interim, Priya will complete her portion in Indian 2 which will also see her in a very important character. Kamal Haasan starrer Indian 2, which is currently being shot in Rajahmundry, is Priya’s biggest film of her career yet.
She’s believed to be playing a very important role in the film which also stars Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh in important roles. Meanwhile, Priya recently completed shooting for Karthick Naren’s Mafia which stars Arun Vijay and Prasanna in the lead.
Priya, who rose to fame with Meyadha Maan and was last seen in Monster, has been on a signing spree. If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, she’s said to have been signed for Vikram’s next project with director Ajay Gnanamuthu.
Tentatively titled Chiyaan Vikram 58, the project was officially announced June and is slated to go on the floors from October. Priya is expected to be playing the female lead opposite Vikram in this film. The film, to be produced by 7 Screen Studio in association with Viacom 18 Studios, has music by AR Rahman.
