Director Blessy’s ambitious project, based on the novel Aadujeevitham, will hit the silver screens in 2020. Blessy, noted for his works such as KazhchaThanmathra, and Pranayam, is busy with the groundwork of this film.

While it went on to the floors a few months earlier, this news about the film hitting the marquee two years later has come as a surprise for movie buffs. Enquiries with the team revealed that it is indeed true and the reason behind it is that the film has to be shot in different foreign locations in different seasons. Also, its lead star Prithviraj will need to sport multiple looks in the film. A lot of work has to go into its pre-production so that nothing goes wrong during the shooting. All this will attribute to its delay in release, we hear. It will be a mega-budget 3D film.

The film will have Prithviraj Sukumaran playing the role of Najeeb and Amala Paul will play the female lead. Aadujeevitham is based on the Kerala Sahitya Academy Award winning novel by the same title, penned by Benyamin. The story revolves around a migrant worker from India who is forced to have a slave like existence, herding goats in the deserts of Middle East where he goes in search of a job.

Two Oscar award winners will be part of the film. AR Rahman is composing the music of the film – his first in Malayalam after Yodha that came in 1992, and Resul Pookutty is the sound engineer. Cinematography will done by the veteran KU Mohanan.

On being a part of the project, Amala Paul had said earlier: “I realised how painfully distant it was from my dreams. We shouldn't dream about the unfamiliar and about what only looks good from afar. When such dreams become reality, they are often impossible to come to terms with.”

It may be noted here that Prithviraj is busy with a slew of films including his maiden directorial Lucifer, which has Mohanlal in the lead role.
