Pre-teaser to Varun Tejs Valmiki unveiled

The pre-teaser of the upcoming film Valmiki has been unveiled and is getting the attention of the film buffs. The teaser featured the lead stars Varun Tej, Pooja Hegde and Atharvaa. Interestingly, Tamil hero, Atharvaa is making his debut in Tollywood with this flick. On the teaser launch, Varun Tej wrote on his social media page, “Me in #Valmiki like you’ve never seen before! Hope you guys like it..Here is the link to #ValmikiPreTeaser. @harish2you @DoP_Bose @Atharvaamurali @hegdepooja.”

From the teaser that has no dialogues, we can see that Varun Tej will be sporting a new look in the film. He can be seen sporting a beard with a scar on his face.

Valmiki is the remake of the hit Tamil movie Jigarthanda that was written and directed by Karthik Subburaj. The film has Varun Tej reprising the role done by Bobby Simha in Tamil. Atharvaa Murali will be seen in the role done by Siddharth in the original. Harish Shankar will be wielding the megaphone for this remake and Devi Sri Prasad has been roped in to compose the tunes. Valmiki will be bankrolled by Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta under their banner.

On the technical front, Mickey J Meyer has been roped in to compose music for this flick with Ayanaka Bose handling the camera. Chota K Prasadill edits the film.

It may be noted here that the original version in Tamil was written and directed by Karthik Subburaj with Lakshmi Menon playing the female lead with Nassar, Ambika, Karunakaran and Sangili Murugan playing the supporting roles. The film fetched the National Film Awards for best supporting actor for Bobby Simha and best editing for Vivek Harshan.  The film was bankrolled by Kathiresan under his banner SMS Pictures. Made on a budget of Rs 10 crore, it fetched around Rs 35 crore at the box office.
