Actor Prasanna, who was last seen in Kaala Koothu which released last May, has landed a pivotal role in Karthick Naren’s next yet-untitled film that will also star Arun Vijay. During the special preview of his latest Tamil web series Thiravam on Tuesday in Chennai, Prasanna opened up about his upcoming projects in a media interaction. He confirmed signing Karthick’s new film and said that he’s excited to be sharing screen space with Arun Vijay. He also said that he is part of Udhayanidhi Stalin’s upcoming Tamil crime thriller Kannai Nambathey. Prasanna is also getting ready for Mysskin’s Thupparivaalan 2, adding that talks have been initiated.

Lyca Productions is said to bankroll Karthick’s project, which will go on the floors in a couple of months. Apparently, the makers liked his script and immediately signed him. They had approached Arun first with the offer and he’s said to have signed a few weeks ago. An official announcement is expected to be made in a few weeks. Meanwhile, Arun Vijay, who was last seen in director Magizh Thirumeni’s psycho-thriller Thadam, is currently working on Agni Siragugal with Vijay Antony and Boxer with Ritika Singh. He recently wrapped up the shoot of the multilingual Saaho.

Karthick Naren, who made an impressive debut with Dhruvangal 16, awaits the release of his second film, Naragasooran. Reports say Naragasooran, produced by Gautham Menon, will finally hit the screens this year. The project started rolling from September 15, 2017 in Ooty and was predominantly shot inside a house. The film, which stars Arvind Swamy, Sundeep Kishan and Tamannaah Bhatia, is said to be the story of a fallen demon, and will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Ron Yohaan has composed the music for this film.

Prasanna is making his digital debut with the web series titled Thiravam, based on the life of Ramar Pillai who shot to limelight in 1996 after he claimed that he had invented herbal petrol without using any petrochemicals.
