The much-anticipated film, Aadhi which will mark Pranav Mohanlal’s debut as hero, will start rolling from August 1st, confirm sources close to the film unit. The film’s pooja happened last month along with a Mohanlal film.
Aadhi, which has the tag line ‘Some lies can be deadly’ is directed by the acclaimed director Jeethu Joseph, who had wielded the megaphone for successful films like Drishyam.
Pranav Mohanlal began his career in the film industry as a child artiste with Onnaman and went on to win the Kerala State Film Award for his performance as a child artiste in Punarjani.
His return to the film industry was in 2015 and this time as an assistant director. Pranav, interestingly, had assisted director Jeethu Joseph in two films Papanasam, the Tamil remake of the Malayalam hit flick Drishyam and Life of Josutty. While speculations were rife that he would soon be wielding the megaphone for his own directorial, he seems to be set on following his dad’s footsteps.
Aadhi is bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.
While launching the film earlier this month, Mohanlal had said, “I am a person who believes that films happen... Many people in the film industry had come up and asked about Pranav. I said I don't know. I believe in personal freedom and I never interfered with his intentions. So, I thought let it happen as per his wish.”
Speaking about director Jeethu Joseph, Mohanlal said that he is a director who is well versed in his profession and he will be touching upon a subject that the Malayalam film industry has never wished to touch upon. Well, that sounds interesting and has created high expectations already!
