Shashank Purushotham, who was last seen in Shuddhi, will be sharing the screen space with Prabhu Deva in Mercury. Shashank will be playing the main lead in this film while Prabhu Deva will be the baddie. Interestingly, this is the first time that Prabhu Deva is playing a villain in his career and he is looking forward to the film’s release to gauge the audiences’ reaction. Apart from Prabhu Deva, Shashank will have to fight four other baddies, including Sananth Reddy and Deepak Paramesh. Remya Nambeesan is playing the female lead.
Shashank, upbeat about making his debut in the Tamil film industry with Mercury, has said that he is looking forward to work with Prabhu Deva, a multi-talented film personality who has proved himself as an actor, choreographer, producer and director. However, he did not want to disclose any details about the film.
Critically acclaimed director Karthik Subburaj is directing the film and he is producing it under his own banner Bench Talkies. Santhosh Narayan is composing music and Tirru is cranking the camera with Vivek Harshan taking care of the editing. It is an experimental film from Karthik Subburaj as there would be no dialogues in it. The silent crime drama is sure to have the audiences experience something different.
Shashank, who was seen in the Kannada crime drama Shuddhi last year, will be playing a hero in Mercury. Incidentally, he was one of the four baddies in the movie. Shuddhi, directed by Adarsh Eshwarappa, had three female actors, Niveditha, Lauren Sparton, and Amrutha Karagada playing the central roles. Jesse Clinton had composed music for this venture with Andrew Aiello cranking the camera and Ramsetty Pawan editing it.
