The News Minute | November 10, 2014 | 9:45 am ISTThe Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TJAC) urged the ban of air-conditioners in government offices following the government’s raised concern about the power crisis. According to a report in the Times of India, M Kodandaram, Chairman of TJAC said “As part of sharing the distress and in view of saving energy, the government officers must stop using air-conditioners.”He also emphasized on the fact that the rule should be equally applicable to both, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.The committee also demanded that the Telangana government implement measures for tapping solar power and Natural gas to tackle the severe power crisis the state is facing. Kodandaram welcomed the move of the state government to take up a debate on farmers' suicides, in the state assembly on Monday and suggested that the opposition parties take part and come up with constructive suggestions.
