After being denied by his parents, a Standard 12 boy took it upon himself to get a car by hook or by crook. The boy stole a car and was arrested by Agra police along with his cousin, who was his partner in crime.

On October 27, Prakash (18) who is a resident of Salapur, Noida came to Agra to visit his aunt along with his father. During their stay, they had visited a Ford showroom to look for cars and reportedly his father promised a Ford Eco Sport as a Dhanteras gift. Later, his father changed his mind and instead suggested it as a reward, if he did well in his Intermediate exams.

Unable to accept the humiliation from friends, to whom he had already spoken about the car and planned trips in advance, Prakash did not hesitate to take any course of action in order to have the car.

Prakash along with his cousin Bholu, summoned an Eco Sport for a test drive from the Ford showroom nearest to his aunt’s residence in Agra.

Reportedly, Prakash went on a test drive with Bholu and two of his cousin sisters along with the showroom employee. He made off with the vehicle after he got the showroom employee and two of his cousin sisters out of it, on the pretext of guiding him as he reversed the vehicle.

Later, he was arrested by Sikandara police on Yamuna Expressway.

In a similar incident, an IIT graduate was arrested after he tried to flee with a Harley Davidson in Hyderabad in the month of September.
