The latest cars, even in the mid-segment, come with the infotainment display systems with a plethora of features. But those owning cars in the entry segment or the vehicles from earlier models, which do not have these features, would also want to own and enjoy the video, audio and other technology in their cars. Pioneer is capitalizing on this niche and has just announced a series of products for this aftermarket segment.
The four products being released by Pioneer in this round include, Z7050BT, Z5090BT, Z2090BT and Z1090DVD. The top end devices are supplied with 7-inch touchscreen displays, offering a screen resolution of 800x480pixels.
Though the resolution may appear to be inadequate to the lay person, the display is capable of full HD playback of videos. The video formats can be any of MPEG-2 and 4, H.263 and H.264, AAC, WAV and also the high-res FLAC system. The technology here is made possible through the AppRadioMode+. The users can connect their smartphone through a USB cable.
The Pioneer systems are also pre-loaded with the Android Auto and Apple Car Play and customizable interfaces. There are other features that allow the users to personalize the settings. Some of the controls can be placed on the steering wheel also.
The Pioneer Z series might prove to be an experimentation in the marketplace. It is a particular aspirational segment of car owners that the company is targeting through the launch of these products. They are hoping to get genuine feedback from the customers before making further moves in the segment.
The pricing of these systems is as below:
Z7050BT: Rs. 44, 990
Z5090BT: Rs. 29, 990
Z2090BT: Rs. 24, 990 and
Z1090DVD: Rs. 21, 990
