A bilingual crime drama in Malayalam and Hindi, Moothon, which translates to 'the elder one', is about a 14-year old boy from Lakshadweep who lands up in Mumbai in search of his elder brother. This is Geetu Mohandas’s third outing as a director and her second full-length feature film. Her first film was Kelkunnudo, a 2009 Malayalam short film which went on to win several prestigious awards. However, it was her second film Liar’s Dice which put Geetu on the map as a noted filmmaker.
With Moothon, Geetu has both written and directed the film while Anurag Kashyap has penned the dialogues in Hindi. The film’s cinematographer is Rajeev Ravi.
