As part of the centenary celebrations of Raja Ravi Varma College of Fine Arts Mavelikkara the alumni association of the college will organize a ‘Pedestrians’ portraits' event where the caricatures of pedestrians will be made.
 
The Hindu reports that about 500 painters and artists will be on the job from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the day at Buddha Junction, Mitchel Junction, and the KSRTC Junction on September 29 and expected to draw atleast 3,000 pictures of all the passerby.
 
As per the report famous artists including Namboodiri, cartoonists Toms and Yesudasan, and artist-curator Bose Krishnamachari will also join the event.
 
 The caricatures prepared by artists would be signed and handed over to the people on the spot.
 
September 29 is the birthday of the founder of the institution, artist Rama Varma Raja, the son of Raja Ravi Varma.
 
The alumni association has also organised a four-month celebration, including painting exhibition, seminars, publication of a souvenir and honouring of artists.
