Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party on Monday joined hands with the Left parties—CPI and CPI(M) and attacked both the ruling and the Opposition party in Andhra Pradesh, for being compliant during the ‘injustice’ meted out to the state by the Centre.

They also announced that they would start actively fighting for the cause of Special Category Status (SCS) for Andhra Pradesh with a series of meetings, starting from April.

Addressing the media on Monday at the Jana Sena Party office in Hyderabad, CPI state secretary Ramakrishna announced that the CPI along with their allies--CPI(M) and JSP would hold their first meeting in Anantapur in April, which will be followed by meetings in Visakhapatanam and Ongole town in Prakasam district.

Although the dates have not been decided yet, the new allies said that they will meet again on April 4, and announce the dates.

Attacking the Chief Minister, Ramakrishna said, “For the past four years, though he (Chandrababu Naidu) knew that injustice is being meted out to the state, he remained compliant. Not just that, to fool the people, he repeatedly changed his stance.”

He added, “Today, Chandrababu Naidu has started a new drama that only he is fighting with Narendra Modi and now if someone criticises him, he is twisting it as if somebody is attacking the state.”

Not sparing the opposition YSR Congress party, Ramakrishna said, “We want to tell clearly that like how Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and Arun Jaitley cheated the state from Delhi, similarly both the ruling and the opposition parties supported Narendra Modi. Because of your (Chandrababu and Jagan) submissiveness, this state has been grossly cheated,” he said.

Ramakrishna further appealed to the youth and intellectuals to participate in the series of events which they would be conducting from March 27.

Speaking at the event, CPI(M) state Secretary P Madhu said that they are holding the protest meetings in northern AP and Rayalaseema, as they remain neglected by the state government.

“As the Opposition parties like YSR Congress party and the Congress have failed in mounting pressure against the state government, we have planned for this massive meeting,” he said.

In a press release, Pawan Kalyan said, “TDP is always behaving in a compromising manner and we can’t trust them anymore. They changed their words many times. AP people lost so much because of TDP’s compromising nature. YSRCP’s response has also been minimal in this matter.”

He also lashed out at the upcoming capital of Amaravati saying, “Amaravati isn’t developing as an inclusive capital. It is being developed as a subsidiary city to the TDP. It is a capital specialised only for a few.”

Earlier on Monday, party members of Jana Sena, CPI and CPM had a meeting to finalise their strategy and the series of protests that they plan to take up.
