Veteran producer Boney Kapoor forayed into the South film industry by bankrolling the remake of the hit Hindi movie Pink. Titled as Nerkonda Paarvai in Tamil, the remake starred Ajith in the lead role. Directed by H. Vinoth, the film had Shraddha Srinath, Abhirami Venkatachalam and Andrea Tariang in important roles along with journo Rangaraj Pandey and director Adhik Ravichandran. The film had music by Yuvan Shankar Raja with Nirav Shah cranking the camera and Praveen KL in charge of the editing.
Recently, reports emerged that the film will be remade in Telugu and now we hear that the project is making progress. The industry grapevine is that Tollywood Power Star Pawan Kalyan would reprise Amitabh Bachchan's role from the original and has allotted a 20-day call sheet for it, Sriram Venu will be wielding the megaphone for this remake. The Telugu remake will be bankrolled jointly by Boney Kapoor and Dil Raju. It is worth mentioning that Pawan Kalyan bid adieu to films due to his political commitments. However, it now appears that the star is impressed with the project that he decided to don the greasepaint again. And an official confirmation on the same is expected soon.
Meanwhile, the buzz is that Boney Kapoor is in the process of producing the Telugu remake of the hit Hindi movie Badhaai Ho. Sources say that this film will be bankrolled jointly by Boney Kapoor and Dil Raju. The producers are reportedly working on selecting the right cast and crew.
Director Sriram Venu also has the Allu Arjun starrer Icon in his kitty. Reports are that the shooting of Icon will begin soon after the director is done with the Pink Telugu remake. In the meantime, Allu Arjun will be wrapping up Ala Vaikuntapuramlo and director Sukumar's untitled project.
