Parvathy, who is selective about her projects, has inked a deal to play a real life character. She will be seen playing an acid attack survivor in a Malayalam film that will be helmed by debutant Manu Ashokan, who has earlier worked as associate of late director Rajesh Pillai. The film will be scripted by award winning script writers Bobby and Sanjay.
While Parvathy will be playing the central character in the film, Tovino Thomas and Asif Ali have been signed up for pivotal roles in it. The film will also have Anarkali Marikar, Renji Panicker, Pratap Pothen and Prem Prakash in supporting roles. Scriptwriter Sanjay has been quoted by the Times of India as saying: “Parvathy plays the role of an acid attack survivor in the movie. It’s not based on true life incidents but it’s our depiction of an acid attack survivor.” He went on to add, “We met a lot of acid attack survivors before starting work on the script. The plan is to begin shooting from November 10 and the locations include Kochi, Mumbai and Agra.”
The technical crew of this project includes Gopi Sunder for music, Mahesh Narayanan for editing, and Mukesh Muraleedharan for cinematography.
According to sources close to the film unit, a lot of efforts will be going into the project. A make-up team from Bengaluru has been signed up to take care of Parvathy’s make-up. As she will be playing an acid attack victim, it requires special make-up to ensure that she looks perfect for the role. Further, we hear that the director intends to shoot some scenes at the Sheroes Hangout, a café run by acid attack survivors for their community. The shooting of this film will commence on November 10th and the prep work for it is happening right now.
