The Malayalam movie Panchavarna Thatha has achieved a rare feat: the film’s satellite rights have reportedly been picked up by the popular Malayalam satellite channel Mazhavil Manorama for an astounding Rs 3.9 crores.

This is not a mean feat, considering Panchavarna Thatha hasn’t even hit the silver screens yet. It has been does not have the backing of an established director; and is the directorial debut of Ramesh Pisharody.

Starring Jayaram and Kunchako Boban in the lead roles, the film is touted to be a complete family entertainer.

The trailer of Panchavarna Thatha was released recently and fetched positive responses.

Jayaram’s all-new look in the film is also something to watch out for. While Anusree will be seen as the female lead, other actors in supporting roles are: Mallika Sukumaran, Salim Kumar, Dharmajan, Joju George, Asokan and Premkumar.

Written by Hari P Nair and Ramesh Pisharody, the film has been shot extensively in various locations including Velloor and Kottayam. The shooting of this film, which began early this year, is now over and the post production work is currently in progress.

The sound track has been composed by M Jayachandran and Nadirshah while the background score has been composed by Ouseppachan.

The film's first song 'Panchavarna Thatha Paranne,' sung by Haricharan and Jyotsna, was released recently. Featuring on a celebratory mood and the song starred Anusree, Kunchacko Boban and Maniyanpilla Raju, grooving in the backdrop of a birthday party.

Pradeep Nair has handled the cinematography for Panchavarna Thatha while V Sajan is the editor in charge. Produced by Maniyanpilla Raju under the banner Maniyanpilla Raju Productions, the film is scheduled for release on April 12 this year as a Vishu special.
