Having carved a niche for herself in the Tamil and Telugu film industries, Kajal Agarwal is now keen on signing up films that will have her in heroine-centric or action-oriented roles, say sources. This strong desire to be portrayed as a performance-oriented actor has led Kajal Agarwal to discuss a project with acclaimed filmmaker P Vasu. Apparently, the veteran has a story ready that has impressed the actor and it could be taken to the next level.

When asked about the project, P Vasu was quoted by the Deccan Chronicle as saying, “I am presently in Australia and will be returning to India by the end of July. I will be discussing the schedules and all then. Kajal has expressed interest in the project. Let’s see how things go.”

Meanwhile, Kajal is busy with a slew of projects in Tamil as well as Telugu. She has two Telugu movies, Nene Raju Nene Mantri in which she is paired opposite Rana Daggubati and MLA, which has Kalyan Ram as her lead pair. In Tamil, she has the Ajith starrer Vivegam and Vijay’s Mersal in her kitty.

P Vasu is an acclaimed filmmaker having made his debut with the 1981 directorial Paneer Pushpangal, in which he worked as a co-director. In his long career, spanning over three and half decades, P Vasu has directed several Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi movies. Some of his notable works include Walter Vetrivel, Sethupathi IPS, Mannan, Uzhaippali, Apthamitra and Chandramukhi. Apart from directing movies, he had also donned the greasepaint in some films and produced a few.

With the director confirming that he would be coming up with a heroine-centric film soon and that Kajal Agarwal may be in the star cast, more details about the project are awaited.
