Oyo appoints ex-IndiGo president Aditya Ghosh as CEO of India, South Asia operations

Aditya will be responsible to oversee and grow Oyo Hotels business in South Asia, which will include, India, Nepal, and the other upcoming markets in the region.

In a significant shuffle at the top management of Oyo, the online hospitality player has appointed Aditya Ghosh as the CEO of its India, and South Asia operations. Aditya Ghosh was formerly the president and wholetime director of IndiGo. He was leading the airline when it went public three years ago.

South Asia region for Oyo currently includes only India and Nepal and doesn’t include China, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Other markets in the area will be part of Aditya’s mandate when Oyo expands there. live

His appointment, effective December 1, 2018, comes as a part of the company’s efforts to continue to invest in and attract world-class leadership as it expands its operations globally. He will be reporting to Ritesh Agarwal, Founder and Group CEO, Oyo Hotels and Homes.

Aditya will be responsible to oversee and grow Oyo Hotels business in South Asia, which will include, India, Nepal, and the other upcoming markets in the region. According to a statement from the company, he will focus on continuing to drive growth, along with high-quality customer experience and sustained yields for asset owners.

At IndiGo, Aditya was instrumental in turning airline into the largest and most profitable airline in India. He was also a member of the apex Executive Committee of InterGlobe Enterprises at the Group Level and sat on the Board of the hotels and technology businesses as well as the flight simulator training facilities. Under Aditya’s leadership, IndiGo launched its international operations and took to it where it contributed to about 20% of the airline's operations.
