Oviya Helen made her acting debut with the Malayalam film Kangaroo in 2007 and was seen in the Tamil movie Kalavani, in which she shared screen space with Vimal in 2010. Having acted in scores of Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada movies, Oviya shot to limelight in the popular Tamil reality show, Bigg Boss, which was hosted by the Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan.
She was one of the popular housemates and to her defence, came the Oviya army which was campaigning for her on the net. However, unable to cope with the pressure, Oviya moved out of the Bigg Boss house and was then flooded with several film offers.
Some months ago, it was announced that the actor has been roped in to play an important role in Raghava Lawrence’s hit series Kanchana. While her fans were waiting for more information on this, we have news that she has walked out of the project. Sources in the know say that she has conveyed this to the filmmakers and has also returned the advance she had received from them. Enquiries regarding the actor moving out of the Kanchana series - Muni 4: Kanchana 3 – revealed that the delay in the project going on to the floors forced her to walk out as she had to accommodate other projects.
Oviya has a slew of films in her kitty including Silukkuvarupatti Singam and Oviya Vitta Yaaru Seeni in Tamil and Idi Naa Love Story in Telugu.
It may be mentioned that she had acted in a couple of horror movies such as Yaamirukka Bayamey and Hello Naan Pei Pesuren following which fans were eager to see her in action in another horror-comedy. But it is now confirmed that she will not be a part of Raghava Lawrence’s film any more.
