The class 10 student Poornima, who went missing from her home in Hyderabad more than a month ago has finally been traced to a children’s home in Mumbai as per a report in the Times of India.

“Two or three days after Poornima went missing, government railway police of Dadar railway station found her on the platform and shifted her to Bal Sudhar Gruh as she gave false identity details. Poornima told the cops that her name was Anika Shree and she had come from Sai Shree Ashram in Hyderabad,“ Kukatpally ACP N Bhujanga Rao said.

The 15-year-old girl had gone missing on the morning of June 7 after leaving her home in the city.

After she was reported missing, more than 30 cops from various units of Cyberabad commissionerate fanned out and started extensive searches in Telangana, AP, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.

A few weeks after her disappearance, the girl’s parents had told the police that she wanted to become a film actress. Police then contacted film studios in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Chennai with her details, the report states.

On Sunday evening, SI Anil Mahajan of Bhoiwada police station in Mumbai alerted the city police that he had found the missing girl at Bal Sudhar Gruh in Dongri.

The ACP added that arrangements are being made to bring her back to Hyderabad on Monday.

Earlier this week, the police had changed the case from missing to one of kidnap, as there was no trace of her, more than a month after she went missing.

The police had taken this step after a case review, even though there was no evidence to suggest that she might have been kidnapped.

Before leaving her home, Poornima, who was active on WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram, had deleted all her social media accounts and her WhatsApp history, as well as the call logs on her phone.
