Over 100 sub-reddits shut down: Why Reddit is protesting

The website Reddit is facing a protest after the site's director of talent Victoria Taylor was sacked. Over a 100 sub-reddits, that have millions of readers, is said to have been shut down by moderators. According to a BBC report, Taylor managed the site's popular Ask Me Anything (AMA) section of Reddit. It is not clear why Taylor was sacked suddenly and Reddit in a comment said that it does not talk on issue regarding "individual employee matters". The BBC report quotes a message by one of the AMA moderators as saying, "We all had the rug ripped out from under us and feel betrayed."There have also been talks about "underlying resentment against the admins for running the site poorly", which could have resulted in the shut down.
