The News Minute | February 7, 2015 | 11.06 am ISTSiddaramaiah government is facing a fresh onslaught from the opposition, on the alleged illegal de-notification of land in Arkavathi Layout.On Friday, JD (S) leader H D Kumaraswamy released a 487-page book detailing the trajectory of the acquisition of land for the layout and the subsequent de-notifications and legal proceedings in the case. Kumaraswamy alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaia’s actions were a “clear contempt of court”. Kumaraswamy said that the Land Acquisition Officers (LAO) were not authorized by the government to take any action. The government had to approve the LAOs reports keeping in mind the interest of the public. Leader of the Opposition Jagadish Shettar too leveled fresh allegations against the state government on Friday. He claimed that the government had denotified over nine acres of land in Banashankari and also permitting a change in land use for some survey numbers in Lalbagh Siddapura. According to Shettar, a plot of land of over slightly over two acres which was being used for a nursery. He alleged that the original owner sold the land in violation of a 1987 government order prohibiting the change of land use for that particular piece of land. Tweet
