When OnePlus launched its first device back in 2014, India was not on its launch radar. But a few months into the launch of the OnePlus One, there was immense interest coming from India, which forced OnePlus to come down to Bengaluru and see it for itself. Cut to 2018, nine device launches later, India is one of the three cities in the world that witnessed the launch event of the Chinese smartphone maker’s ultimate flagship, OnePlus 7 Pro. This smartphone, apart from London and New York, was launched in Bengaluru in India.

Like any other event, the excitement was off the charts as thousands of fans from across the country rushed in to get a glimpse of the latest flagship.

On Tuesday, OnePlus launched its most advanced smartphone yet, the OnePlus 7 Pro, alongside two other devices: The OnePlus 7 and the bullets wireless 2 headphones.

OnePlus 7 Pro

The OnePlus 7 Pro is packed with the latest and most premium specifications that smartphones can come with today.

It is loaded with the most powerful technology OnePlus has ever developed and has been tweaked and optimized to a point that exceeds one’s expectations for a flagship. The 6.67-inch device comes with super smooth 90Hz display. What this means is that the screen refreshes at ninety times a second giving users a seamless experience. With an 19.5:9 aspect ratio screen, there is no notch on the 7 Pro with curved glass that stretches across the entire front of the device, uninterrupted, flowing over the edges. . Taking its display technology a step ahead, the 7 Pro sports QHD+ on a fluid AMOLED display. OnePlus has reduced the bezels on all sides of the handset.

The screen shows stunning detail at 516 pixels per inch, with 4.49 million pixels working to bring crisp and accurate colours.

Camera

The next highlight of the 7 Pro is its cameras. For the first time, OnePlus has introduced a triple rear camera setup. The rear cameras features a 48 megapixel, ½-inch super-sized Sony’s IMX586 sensor, plus a custom-made 7-element plastic lens with an f/1.6 aperture and pixel size up to 1.6µm, an 8 megapixel 78mm telephoto lens at f/2.4 and 1µm pixel size and stabilized by OIS, and a 16 megapixel 117° ultra-wide angle lens at f/2.2.

While the 16mp wide angle lens gives stunning detail reducing any distortion, the telephoto lens helps in the zoom with great detailing.

The front camera is a 16-megapixel pop-up camera which automatically pops up when the camera is turned to selfie mode. A very interesting and well-thought feature on the 7 Pro is that the accelerometers on the OnePlus 7 Pro detects when the phone is in free-fall, and automatically retracts the front camera at even the slightest slip to protect it from accidental drops.

Performance:

The OnePlus 7 Pro is powered by the latest mobile platform, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, with up to 12GB of RAM. The OnePlus 7 Pro also comes with UFS 3.0 storage, which will make your phone even faster when it comes to document loading, image saving from the camera, app launch times and more.

RAM Boost, a newly upgraded feature on the OnePlus 7 Pro, will learn from your usage habits and intelligently allocate available RAM to memory-intensive applications. What this means is that with RAM Boost, you’ll be able to shorten the loading processes and begin gaming faster than before. What’s more, RAM Boost will allow more applications to stay open in the background without compromising on overall performance.Battery

OnePlus has bumped up the battery in the 7 Pro to a massive 4000mAh. It comes with Warp Charge 30, which can charge your phone halfway in just 20 minutes. Even when you're charging and in the middle of an intense game, the OnePlus 7 Pro keeps its cool and keeps up with the pace, with minimal excess heat and the same superfast charging time.
