Newly-launched OnePlus 6T with in-display fingerprint sensor will officially go on sale in India on Friday. The much-awaited launch has seen ‘fans’ and buyers line up at stores across cities to get their hands on the 6.41-inch full-screen smartphone.

Similar to the launch of its previous flagships, OnePlus has organised pop-up events eight Indian cities, including Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Ahmedabad, giving users the opportunity to try the new phone and buy them on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The OnePlus 6T will be sold at Rs 37,999 for 6GB+128GB, Rs 41,999 for 8GB+128GB and Rs 45,999 for the 8GB+256GB variant.

Starting Friday, OnePlus 6T will be available on all online and offline channels including Amazon.in, oneplus.in, Croma stores, Reliance Digital outlets and all OnePlus exclusive offline stores.

The phone comes with some significant design changes as compared to the previous flagships. After other smartphone majors such as Apple and Samsung dropped the 3.5mm headphone jack, this is the first OnePlus smartphone to come without the headphone jack.

OnePlus claims that the in-display fingerprint technology is the fastest in the world, taking just 0.34 seconds to unlock.

Coming to the specifications of the smartphone, the OnePlus 6T comes with a 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display at a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It comes with minimal bezels, a waterdrop notch and the speaker grille too, has been moved to top of the device.

The screen of the OnePlus 6T is protected by the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The smartphone has a 3D glass back, made from multiple layers of glass, it includes anti-glare coating and a texturized multilayer film.

The OnePlus 6T runs on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, with 6GB and 8GB RAM variants with 128GB and 256GB internal storage variants.

The smartphone will run Android 9 Pie, making it only the second smartphone in India after Google Pixel 3 to receive Pie in India.

The OnePlus 6T is powered by a 3,700 mAh battery, which provides a 20% increase in battery life compared to OnePlus 6.

The camera too, has been improved with Optical Image Stabilization and Electronic Image Stabilization. The camera also comes with two new features: Nightscape, which captures low-light urban environments with improved clarity, less noise, more accurate colour reproduction and better dynamic range, and Studio Lighting, a feature that has been fine-tuned to recognize faces and adjust the lighting accordingly to simulate professional lighting.

On November 1, Thursday, OnePlus also broke the Guinness World Record for most number of people Unboxing a smartphone simultaneously.
