In a gruesome incident, a one-year-old baby girl was raped by her relative in Hyderabad's Chilkalguda area on Tuesday night.

The accused, Deepu Singh (20), took the baby girl from the second floor of the house where she was sleeping with her parents, to the ground floor and allegedly raped her at around midnight last night, Chilkalguda Police Station Inspector K Srinivasulu said based on a complaint lodged by her parents.
The report adds that the girl has been shifted to a government hospital and is undergoing treatment.
Both the parents were street vendors.
The culprit fled from the spot after the incident but the police caught him on Wednesday afternoon.
The report adds that a case was registered and the accused was charged with rape and sections of the POSCO Act.
"Deep Singh raped the girl in the bathroom of his house. On hearing the girl cry, her family members went to Deep Singh's room and caught him red-handed," deputy commissioner of police (DCP), North Zone, B Sumathi told the Times of India.
