In a shocking incident, a 70-year-old man’s decomposed body was found in his daughter’s apartment in Hyderabad. The body had reportedly been rotting at least for a month.

The incident, which came to light after his wife and kin broke open the doors on Thursday, took place at Rocktown colony, L B Nagar, Hyderabad.

The man, who lived alone in a top floor flat, is suspected to have died on August 18 after the fall. Since all the doors and windows were closed, other residents in the building did not get any foul smell.

According to local news reports, the deceased, Murthy, a retired government employee, was a resident of Rajahmundry. Both his daughters are settled in the USA. Despite his daughters insisting that he visit America and settle with them, Murthy did not want to leave the country.

However, as his daughters urged him and his wife and sent flight tickets, Murthy asked his wife to go visit their daughters and spend some time with them.

Murthy’s younger daughter owns a flat in LB Nagar. Whenever Murthy would come to the city to meet his relatives, he would stay there.

On August 18, he had come to Hyderabad to attend a family function and stayed in the apartment. Since then, his wife and daughters did not hear from him. Despite repeated calls, he did not answer the call.

Worried sick, they visited Hyderabad to find him. The door of the apartment was locked from inside. After they broke open the door, they found the decomposed body.

A police officer told IANS that Murthy seemed to have slipped and fallen down while coming out of the bath. He sustained head injuries and died on the spot.

It was revealed that he had kept his phone on charge when he went to take a bath.

LB Nagar police informed TNM that they did not receive any complaint in this regard.

Locals said that his family members have taken the body to their hometown, Rajahmundry, for cremation.
