On Friday, the West and East Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh saw huge excitement with Pawan Kalyan, actor and president of Janasena Party, holding the Seemaandhra Athma Gourava Sabha meeting at Kakinada. But in an unfortunate event, one person, 22-year-old Nandipalem Venkataramana, from Kuyyeru village has died and three others have been injured at the event.

Police sources have confirmed to The News Minute that the death and injuries occurred during the rally.According to a police inspector with the special branch in Kakinada district, Venkataramana and three of his friends were standing on a building, holding the window, to watch the meeting when all four of them fell to the ground after losing support. While one died, three others have been taken to a hospital.

Pawan Kalyan was addressing his fans and supporters over the burning issue of Special Category status for Andhra, which has been refused by the Centre.

The Hindu reported that fans from different parts of East and West Godavari districts started reaching the city in the morning, and vehicles bearing Janasena flag and the images of Pawan Kalyan were seen as fans raised slogans of ‘Jai Pawan,’ ‘Pawanism Zindabad’ and ‘Jai Janasena.’

It was also reported that fans picked up fights with the police on duty at the venue.

Following the refusal of the special status, a Bandh has been called for in Andhra on Saturday.
