Mohanlal’s Odiyan is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films. Touted to make it to the silver screen next year, the film is edging towards a wrap with the team busy making preparations for its final schedule.
With several fan made posters of this film making it to the internet, Odiyan’s director VA Shreekumar Menon has clarified that it is not a dark horror movie as it is made out to be but a super hero movie made with class. He added that it is planned as a mass entertainer. On the film’s climax that has been shot recently, the director has said that it is a long and thrilling climax that will have the audiences glued to their seats.
The climax was shot in four different locations, he had said and added that it would be loaded with stunts on par with international standards. Hollywood stunt choreographer Peter Hein had designed the stunts and it has been shot well, said the director.
On Mohanlal appearing young in the film, he has been quoted by the NIE as saying, “We are talking about reversing over 15 years and have roped in a team to get him a younger look. This includes a team of 25 people that monitors his diet and workout. The kind of training they provide is something athletes go through. It includes sucking out water from the body, so as to ensure a trim look. Mohanlal is extremely thrilled to undergo the process." A
ccording to the director, Odiyan will be the first cross over the movie in Malayalam. He had said that though it is made in Malayalam, it will have a pan Indian appeal. The film will be released simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu as well along with the Malayalam version, he pointed out.
