Mohanlal starrer Odiyan is gearing up for release on December 14th and the Tamil version of the film will also be out on the same day; thanks to Trident Arts. The well known production and distribution house have taken up the Tamil version and have announced officially that it will release on the same day as the Malayalam version. The post from the production house reads: “Here is the first look poster of #Odiyan Tamil. Releasing through Trident Arts..!! #OdiyanRising.”
Also, there are plans to release the Telugu version simultaneously as well.
Odiyan is the ambitious project of ad filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon who is making his directorial debut in feature films after making several ads with some of the most popular names from the film industry. His first full length features Mohanlal in the title role with a bevy of stars in the cast. The film has Prakash Raj playing a pivotal role and interestingly he is sharing the screen space with Mohanlal, after nearly two decades. The last they were seen together is in Mani Ratnam’s Iruvar.
Manju Warrier plays the female lead in this film and the rest of the cast include Innocent, Siddique, Manoj Joshi, Nandhu, Narain, Kailash, Sreejaya Nair, Sana Althaf and Appani Sarath. The film is scripted by National Award winner K Hari Krishnan.
The technical crew of the film includes M Jayachandran to compose the soundtrack while Sam CS is in charge of the BGM. Shaji Kumar is the cinematographer for this venture with John Kutty being the editor. Odiyan is a high budget movie being bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor under his banner Aashirvad Cinemas.
