Mohanlal starrer Odiyan, one of the most anticipated films of the year, is scheduled to hit the marquee on December 14th and the film unit has planned several promotional strategies. One of these is the launch of a new game. The teaser of the Odiyan game was launched recently and the game itself will be out on December 15th, a day after the film’s release.

On this, director VA Shrikuma Menon said to The Times of India, “We have used a lot of marketing strategies for Odiyan. This is an ambitious project. Every film, based on a franchisee model, has different levels of income generation and engagement. We have done a lot of research and work for the game.”

Meanwhile, ‘Kali Odiyanodu’, another game show to promote the film, is being aired on Radio Mango from December 10. The game will have Mohanlal and the listeners on one side and the character ‘Odiyan’ on the opposing side. A task will be given to the listeners to save a film celebrity from Odiyan's tricks, by finding the phone number of the celebrity. Every hour Mohanlal will give clues to find the phone number. Whoever first finds the number and rescues the celebrity would be the winner. A prize money of Rs 5,000 will be shared equally by the winner and Mohanlal.

Odiyan will mark the directorial debut of ad filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon in the Malayalam film industry. It has Prakash Raj playing a pivotal role and interestingly he is sharing screen space with Mohanlal, after nearly two decades. The last time they worked together was in the Mani Ratnam directorial Iruvar.

Manju Warrier plays the female lead in this film and the rest of the cast include Innocent, Siddique, Manoj Joshi, Nandhu, Narain, Kailash, Sreejaya Nair, Sana Althaf and Appani Sarath. The film is scripted by National Award winner K Hari Krishnan.

M Jayachandran has composed the soundtrack of the film while Sam CS is in charge of the BGM. Shaji Kumar is the cinematographer for this venture and John Kutty is the editor. Odiyan is a high budget movie, bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor under his banner Aashirvad Cinemas.
